Bloemfontein, Langenhovenpark
I walked in and within ten seconds I understood exactly what this house is about. It’s not loud. It’s not flashy. It’s just quietly confident, like it knows it’s got its life together and doesn’t need validation from anyone. You know the type. Effortless.
The open-plan lounge and kitchen situation is where life actually happens. Morning coffee shuffles. Late-night fridge raids. Netflix marathons that accidentally become sunrise viewings. Everything connects, so nobody’s ever stuck cooking alone while the rest of the world laughs in another room. The air-conditioning keeps the temperature civilised even when the weather is throwing a tantrum, which means the house always feels calm, even if the group chat isn’t.
There are three bedrooms, and let me just say, these aren’t those suspicious “single-bed-and-a-lamp” situations. Real rooms. Proper space. The kind where furniture fits without negotiations. Two bathrooms too, which means mornings don’t turn into a reality show about time management. Someone will still take forever, obviously, but at least now there’s backup.
Step outside and suddenly the house gets playful. Big garden. Like, genuinely big. Enough space for dogs to lose their minds, kids to invent games with confusing rules, or adults to stand around pretending they know anything about plants. The pool sits there sparkling like it’s aware it’s the favourite child. Summer afternoons basically plan themselves here. And then there’s the braai area, the unofficial headquarters of laughter, opinions about meat, and that one friend who insists they “don’t usually drink on Sundays.”
Parking? Sorted. One Hollywood garage and one enclosed garage, both electric, because modern life has collectively agreed that pressing a button beats doing cardio with gates. Security bars and a security gate are in place too, so you can sleep like someone who doesn’t triple-check locks at 2am.
What I like most though is the feeling. It’s easy here. Nothing tries too hard. The house just works, for lazy days, loud nights, and everything in between. Some homes show off. This one just raises an eyebrow and lets you figure it out.
Bloem is my dorp. Property is my game.
